Trip #1 Ten Lakes. This trip is located about 25 miles up Tioga Rd near Yosemite creek if you like to fish, and love to explore lakes in close proximity to each other than this is your trip. These lakes all sit in a large bowl at the base of what is known as Grand Mountain, and the views from a top the mountains surrounding these lakes are truly spectacular. This trip is about 6 miles in and 12 miles round trip, it would be a good idea to allow at least 5 days for this trip so that you can explore the surround peaks and lakes as well as the great fishing to.

Trip #2 Lower Cathedral Lakes This trip is located in Tuolumne Meadows and the lake sits at about 9,290 ft it's 3.5 miles in and 7 miles round trip 8 if you go to both lakes, meaning upper Cathedral lake too. This is a short trip that offers fantastic scenery for those who would like to take in allot but have little time to do so. This trip can be done easily in one day though there is some uphill that will take some work, I would recommend at 2 or 3 days for this trip and that's if you really want to enjoy yourself because exploring the area around this lake can be very rewarding and is a great way to spend a weekend.

Trip #3 Lower Ottoway Lake in my opinion one of the best trips in the entire park. The trail starts at Mono Meadows it's about 5 mile up Glacier Point Rd leading into the heart of the south west portion of the park, this trail head gives the hiker good access into the Clark Mountain range as well as the surrounding peaks and lakes Lower Ottoway Lake sits at about 9,700 and is a high alpine lake it makes a good base camp for those who would like to explore the Clark Mountain range as well as Red Peak. This lake is about 14 miles in and 28 miles round trip though some may want to do the loop and come out in the valley for those who don't I would recommend at least 5-6 days for this trip, if you want to explore this region you will definitely need at least that. This is a mid July to early August trail do to the high elevation of this lake, with good fishing and spectacular views.

Trip #4 Vogelsang High Sierra camp, great trip do to it's elevation and central location to many trails heading into Yosemite's high country or down to the valley floor. This trip starts out of Tuolumne Meadows and is about 6.7 miles to Vogelsang where you will camp at Fletcher Lake before making that decision as to which trail you will take for the remainder of your trip. I love this area, your in the high country and you have a lot of choices at your disposal Vogelsang Lake or Vogelsang pass to Bernice lake, Emeric Lake, Townsley Lake ect...you cannot go wrong in this place, the scenery is awesome at every turn on every peak there is a great view. I would allow at least 6-7 days for this trip as there will be much to look at and explore, not to mention the great fishing you will find at almost any lake in this region.
Trip #5 Glen Aulin High Sierra camp, for those who like the water as well as great canyon views and spectacular water falls this trip is a must. Starting out of Tuolumne Meadows the trail head begins just down the road from Lembert Dome extending about 5.4 miles to Glen Aulin this trail is not only very scenic, but also centrally located with several trail heads just outside of Glen Aulin, including the Pacific Crest trail. I would allow at least 3-4 days for this trip maybe longer if your plans include hiking through the canyon. Glen Aulin is a great base camp to explore the surrounding area as well as a visit to the famous Waterwheel Falls, located just 3.5 miles from Glen Aulin. Some of the best views in the park can be found up by Mattie Lake from Wildcat point, though there are no listed trails on the map to Mattie lake it can be reached by going up the canyon side and following the outflow of the lake as you get higher, Note this is a dangerous hike so if you decide to make it be very careful as a slip off the side of this canyon would definitely be your last.
